On Friday, June 26, the EIL students worked on their third and final laboratory
assignment in the Thermodynamics,
Heat Transfer and Dynamics Laboratory in the Diamond. The two major learning outcomes of the third laboratory assignment that focused on heat exchange were
to determine i) the entropy production for both hot and cold streams, and ii)
the total rate of entropy production for the Hilton heat exchanger
apparatus. This lab assignment was designed by Dr. Robert
Woolley, Multidisciplinary
Education, University of Sheffield.
