British Science Museum (South Kensington)

On Friday, June 7 the EIL students visited the British Science Museum in South Kensington.
They were able to see some of the Boulton and Watt Steam Engines and Babbage's Difference Engine (Models 1 and 2).  Professors Berry and Parsons awarded triva winners with candy afterwards.  The group photo (with EIL banner) is taken under Old Bess, one of the oldest surviving steam engines that was built in 1777 by Boulton and Watt. This machine was removed from tits original site in Boulton’s Soho Manufactory (Birmingham) after it stopped work in 1848.
